Introducing, Glownuts™ – candles made from doughnut fryer oil.
Glownuts are the only candles in the world made from used doughnut fryer oil (palm shortening). After we make the doughnuts, we make candles with the same oil. It’s just one of Whidbey Doughnuts’ recycling efforts and yields a charming and responsible gift.
We add a pinch of wax and a whisper of scent to help to stabilize the Glownuts for shipping and to provide a smooth pleasing aroma when burning. It’s like living next door to your favorite doughnut shop. Brighten up someone’s day (or your own) with the delightfully unique Glownut.
Every night in the quiet neighborhood of Bayview Corner, in Langley Washington we hand-make hundreds of doughnuts, cinnamon rolls, apple fritters and doughnut holes for our doughnut shop and diner (and a few other local grocery stores). Once morning arrives and the doughnut fryer has had a chance to cool down, we filter out the used oil (palm shortening) and save it for the next round of Glownut production.
Glownuts are only made at Whidbey Doughnuts in Langley, WA and are a must have for any candle lover. Choose from a variety of scents and sizes.
